Milky Piggy Water Lock Hydrogel Melting Mask from #Elizavecca #Review | aka The Magic Mask

A few weeks ago, Elizavecca reached out to me offering a partnership to review their products. Was I dreaming? One of my favorite brands with the cutest packaging (seriously, who can turn away from that adorable little piggy adorning their products?) and products that offer fun along with effectiveness? To say I was ecstatic would be an understatement. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I received a package from Elizavecca not too long ago and it contained two types of sheet masks, this review is for one of them. I'm going to give more details as I go along, but I'll give a little spoiler that this mask did some pretty magical things for my face.

Let's start at the beginning...
I'm roughly 30 years old (numbers aren't really important, are they?), and I have oily, acne-prone skin with blackheads, closed comedones, and occasional cystic acne. I also have hyper-pigmentation, scarring, and an alcohol allergy.

The Elizavecca Milky Piggy Water Lock Hydrogel Melting Mask works by melting against the warmth of your skin, allowing the active ingredients of the mask to absorb more efficiently. This mask is supposed to provide powerful moisture, elasticity from collagen, firmness from plant extracts, smooth wrinkles with adenosine, and whiten with niacinamide.

Unfortunately I was unable to translate the entire ingredients list, but if I do I will add it in at a later time.

This is the first hydrogel mask I've ever used that had extra essence floating around in the packet. I'll be honest, I hate dry hydrogels... so this was a very pleasant surprise.

The gel itself was thin and very pliable, consistent with other mesh-reinforced gel masks I've tried. These types tend to fit my face a lot better and don't take extra time to warm up and conform to your face either (I'm looking at you Pettifee Gold EGF...).

This mask had a great fit, and even hugged my under-eye area nicely. The bottom half of the mask did slip around a bit for the first minute or so after application, but once the essence started to absorb it stayed in place. My active acne did burn slightly for short period of time, but it wasn't unbearable. For the sake of my review I left the mask on since it didn't continue or get worse.

The instructions say to leave on for 20-30 minutes, but I'm a rebel and left mine on for a full hour. By that time the gel had mostly melted, and the mask itself was left with a thin dry gel sheet with mesh exposed.

My skin looked plump and was visibly moist, but not the least bit sticky. Much to my surprise my acne was not aggravated at all - in fact the redness from my acne has mostly disappeared and it was no longer painful.

This before and after is of the same angle of my face, but turned for an easier comparison. Are you seeing how much brighter and calm my face is?!? But the results didn't stop there - the following morning my active acne had nearly disappeared, and my face was still bright and luminous. My skin looked renewed and fresh, and my pores looked much smaller. My skin stayed hydrated all through the night as well.

This mask is like magic for my skin. It truly is something amazing Elizavecca has created.
